　　FIRST THINGS FIRST.... WHAT ARE MULTIPURPOSE HOMES?

　　Multipurpose homes are residential facilities for youth. Residency in our multipurpose homes has been proven to interrupt lifetime criminal behavior for

　　Level IIrepeat juvenile offenders. MHC staff live and work in each home, serving 10 judicial districts, and implement a model of care that teaches teens tochange problem behaviors andattitudes, expand their skills and recoverfrom setbacks and mistakes.

　　WHATDOES THE TEACHER DO?

　　Under the direction of the Residential Program Manager, the Teacher plans and implements a comprehensive individualized education program for each juvenile resident on a year-round basis. The Teacher will operate the school program in compliance with all approval and accreditation requirements specified by the North Carolina Department of Non-Public Instruction. This includes, but is not limited to, recording daily classroom attendance (8 youth max), filing immunization records, and conducting an annual audit. The teacher will develop a curriculum for each student that meets the North Carolina standard course of study requirements for the individual's youth's grade level.

　　ARE YOU QUALIFIED?

　　Must be twenty-one (21) years of ageMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityAppropriate current, valid teaching certification as specified by the North Carolina Department of Public InstructionMinimum of two (2) years teaching experience with adolescents or direct residential experience with the target population is preferredMust maintain a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving recordBENEFITS:
