About Systems Development Engineer I, Amazon Robotics

  We are seeking a skilled and passionate Systems Development Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our diverse range of technologies and applications. The ideal candidate will excel at identifying and resolving issues, automating processes, maintaining service infrastructure, and working closely with cross-departmental teams to achieve business objectives while upholding the highest standards of platform security, reliability, and supportability. Experience with Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms such as AWS, particularly in large-scale, distributed environments, is highly valued.

  Key job responsibilities

  Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-scale solutions on AWS.

  Perform vulnerability remediation procedures and apply application updates.

  Troubleshoot and remediate platform and application issues.

  Serve as part of an on-call rotation for application-related incidents.

  Create, analyze, and improve code to meet business requirements.

  Execute technical projects with high attention to detail.

  Produce comprehensive and user-friendly technical and support documentation.

  Identify potential areas for improvement, cost savings, or growth in enterprise systems.

  Participate in architecture reviews to steer the course of enterprise systems.

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  2+ years of experience with Windows PowerShell, Linux Shell, or similar scripting language.

  2+ years of experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational database technologies.

  1+ years working in virtualization or cloud environments.

  Proficient in Windows or Linux Server administration.

  Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.

  Preferred Qualifications

  2+ years of experience with AWS services, such as VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, and SES/SMTP.

  2+ years of experience working on large-scale distributed systems.

  1+ years of experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  1+ years of experience in architecting new or existing systems for reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.

  Proficient in a modern programming language such as Python, Java, or C/C++.

  Fundamental knowledge of IT security concepts and principles.

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
