  Summary THIS VACANCY IS OPEN TO INTERNAL TO CURRENT VISN 9 CLINICAL RESOURCE HUB EMPLOYEES ONLY. A Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) is a repository of clinical and administrative staff that serve all Veterans Affairs facilities within a Veterans Integrated System Network (VISN). Staff within these CRHs are expected to provide interprofessional services to VISN facilities that are underserved or experiencing gaps in clinicians due to the inability to match provider supply with demand. Responsibilities The VISN 9 Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) Suicide Prevention (SP) Telehealth Program Supervisor, Psychologist position is a VISN-based position located in VISN 9. This position falls under the direct supervision of the VISN 9 CRH Mental Health Section Chief. As part of the VISN CRH Team, the SP Telehealth Program Supervisor has direct administrative and clinical program management of the team including supervision over members of the assigned SP Telehealth team including but not limited to, Psychologists, Social Workers, Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors (LPMHC), and trainees. The position is full time virtual/remote. Clinical Functions: The incumbent must use a high level of skill in assessing and treating the complex factors of suicidality. Incumbent thoroughly reviews the medical record and previous psychosocial assessments when the Veteran is referred, consulting with the referring provider as needed, and will complete an assessment of current symptoms/functioning/needs and provide a thorough treatment plan when a Veteran engages in CRH mental health services. Incumbent will provide evidence-based suicide prevention psychotherapies and interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention, Advanced Safety Planning, Problem Solving Therapy for Suicide Prevention, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Incumbent will also provide crisis intervention within the context of treatment. The incumbent: Program Manager/Supervisory Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for monitoring the efficiency, effectiveness, timeliness and quality of the VISN 9 SP Telehealth Program (SP2.0) services. The incumbent provides operational oversight for SP2.0 and directs clinical functions, such as timely therapy assignments and accurate documentation in electronic health medical record systems. This includes supervisory review mechanisms; review of workload data from Vista and DSS, and position management. They review staffing patterns and work assignments within assigned area to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet workload demands at the spoke sites served by the virtual SP team. As part of a team effort, they will identify areas for improvement, gather relevant data, assess the data, develop and implement ideas for improvement, and evaluate efficacy of improvements. Incumbent also serves on VISN CRH committees and task forces that support telemental health program services related to suicide prevention efforts and monitors efficiency, effectiveness and data as needed. Administers information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to patients. Implements existing information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, patient demographics, equipment utilization, and patient satisfaction. Implements and assists in evaluation of clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services. Work Schedule: Full-Time 080 Hours. Qualifications Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Psychologists must be proficient in spoken and written English. Doctoral degree in Psychology or qualifying provision. Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Board Certification. Persons hired to psychology positions in the VHA who completed an internship that was not accredited at the time the program was completed must be board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in a specialty area that is consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed. The board certificate must be current and the applicant must abide by the certifying body's requirement for continuing education. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Grade Determinations: At least 3 years of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-13 level Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): In addition to the experience above, candidates must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: a)Ability to organize work, set priorities, delegate tasks, and meet multiple deadlines. b) Knowledge of and ability to utilize evidence based practices and clinical practice guidelines appropriately and ability to guide staff in using these tools. c) Ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups representing widely divergent backgrounds, interests, and points of view. d) Skill in managing and directing the work of others to accomplish program goals and objectives. e) Ability to translate management goals and objectives into well-coordinated and controlled work operations. f) Ability to establish and monitor production and performance priorities and standards. g) Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and to develop and implement solutions that result in sound operation of the program.
