　　Job Summary and Qualifications

　　Under the general supervision of the O.R. Clinical Coordinator and the administrative supervision of the Director of Perioperative Services, the sterile processing supervisor is responsible for processing instrument trays, maintaining sterilizers, maintaining sterilization log books, overseeing sterile processing technicians, and processing other supplies necessary for surgical and/ or procedures at according to AAMI, AORN and Joint Commission standards.

　　What will you do in this role?:

　　You will maintain the National Standards and Recommended Practices for sterilization, supplies, and equipment and promotes collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, department heads, and personnel of other departments.

　　You will adhere to national, state and hospital department policies.

　　You will inspect, assemble and test general and specialty instrumentation for proper functionality.

　　You will identify tray type by contents of instrument tray.

　　You will identify instruments that do not function properly and replaces or reports instruments that need repair or that are missing.

　　You will monitor surgery schedules daily, identifying general, specific and potential needs for all cases.

　　You will operate and maintain autoclaves, keeping records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.

　　You will accurately documents sterilization records.

　　You will escalate issues to O.R. Clinical Coordinator and the administrative supervision of the Director of Perioperative Services .

　　You will supervise a high-level of disinfection using established policies and procedures as required.

　　You will supervisor preparation of needed case carts according to pull sheets and specialty carts according to inventory sheets and reports all discrepancies.

　　You will maintain consistency and continuous workflow between the OR and Central Service Sterile Processing while practicing excellent customer service.

　　You will attend in-service presentations, including but not limited to infection control, patient safety, quality improvement, SDS and OSHA standards.

　　What qualifications you will need:

　　High School Graduate / GED/ Vocational/ Technical

　　Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT), or Certified Registered Central Service Technician

　　Minimum 1 year of CSS experience

　　Knowledge of State, Federal and JCAHO regulations
