POSITION PURPOSE
A Mason Superintendent must be able to lead the completion of custom work on distinctive projects with brick, block and/or stone. A Superintendent needs to have mastered above average skill and speed in laying brick, block and/or stone and demonstrated supervisory skills. Superintendents are required to ensure safety, quality and productivity requirements are met according to project requirements each day. The Superintendent exemplifies customer service when dealing directly with the owner, vendors, project superintendents, general contractors, and internal customers in all departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES
Accurately report to the Project Manager daily productivity and any issues that arise during the day.
Document daily reports and timecards to accurately report job specifics and employee compensation.
Plan site logistics, execution and staffing on a daily, weekly, and bi-weekly basis using the short interval plan to communicate staffing, tool and equipment needs to Project Managers.
Works with the Project Manager to procure tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules and budgets.
Participate and influence pre-job planning in conjunction with the Project Manager.
Accurately interpret project plans and details to Gallegos staff and clients.
Manage Gallegos’ risk through client collaboration and revision of plan details such that all projects are completed to current industry code and standard.
Confers with and directs foreman and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Confers with general contractor and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules and estimated productivity.
Prepares or reviews daily and/or weekly reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts crew size or sequence as indicated by reports.
Participate and provide un-biased feedback on project close-outs during exit strategy process and post-job reviews.
Oversee the following tasks are being performed to the highest quality:
Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as a priority on all job sites.

This position does have supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
5-10 years of Masonry experience.
Ability to read blueprints and other construction plans.
Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
Education:
High school degree and/or trade school
Certifications:
OSHA 10-hour training
Computer/Typing:
Basic computer and typing experience.
Language Ability:
Must have a working knowledge of the English language to communicate with other crew members, general contractors, etc.
