GS-09 Specialized experience is defined as: conducting legal research into Federal and state statutes; conducting legal research regarding pay, garnishments, involuntary allotments, bankruptcies, or collections; analyzing facts of individual cases and research laws to determine whether statutory requirements have been met; providing advice/assistance to customers and making determinations of legal validity regarding all forms of garnishments; and identifying the factual and legal issues and the relevant evidence to prepare case summaries or precedent cases. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for a GS-07, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in Federal Service.
