  About this role

  Function Overview:

  The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is critical to helping senior managers understand the business of investment management at BlackRock. We advise and produce budgets, short and long range forecasts; create and analyze business metrics and identify cost savings opportunities; deliver economic insight into the relationships between costs and revenues to improve the financial success of the business going forward. We are a valued and critical component of the management function, working at all levels of BlackRock to provide both a broad and deep understanding of the firm's financial position and opportunities.

  Position Overview:

  This VP-level role sits within the Americas FP&A team which covers three sales organizations - US Wealth Advisory, Retirement Group, Americas Institutional Business - along with the affiliated executive platform and its specialized fundraising organization. The combined Americas client businesses represent a majority of BlackRock's book of business, includes some of our largest client relationships and presents the FP&A team the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, stimulating environment. The candidate will be responsible for leading a small team to deliver the financial planning and analysis activities for the US Wealth Advisory business leadership team. The individual will be an inspiring manager with the ability to articulate and deliver business insights and reporting to senior leaders. The candidate will be responsible for developing strong business partnering relationships that influence business decision making processes. This person will be a strong critical thinker with the ability to challenge perceived norms and drive forward key projects within a complex matrix organization.

  Key responsibilities:

  Lead FP&A activities and outputs for the US Wealth Advisory business leadership team

  Foster and develop strong business partnering relationships, becoming a trusted advisor to the business leadership team

  Manage a team of 2 individuals to deliver regular reporting, analysis and insight to US Wealth Advisory

  Develop detailed budget and forecast models to drive high quality decision-making and closely monitor business performance

  Lead team-wide projects including financial modeling, resource optimization and the delivery of automated solutions for reporting

  Develop and present periodic financial reports to US Wealth Advisory and Finance leadership

  Lead the evolution of the team's reporting, developing new approaches to critically assess the performance of the business

  Manage relationships with Central Finance, Accounting and Human Resources, as needed, on key deliverables

  Knowledge and experience requirements:

  7+ years of experience in the financial services sector, preferably at a top-tier asset manager, investment bank, public accounting or consulting firm. Preferably with exposure to wealth-related business (either with a distributor or manufacturer of pooled product)

  Ability to clearly articulate and present ideas both in written presentations and orally to senior management

  Proven experience leading team

  Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills

  Demonstrated ability to work/navigate in a large organization

  Solid proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; advanced /in Excel; experience with TM1 / Cognos a plus.

  Strong academics including bachelor's degree

  Personal qualities:

  Able to work effectively under pressure and in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines

  Focused attention to detail and high standards for quality and accuracy in his/her work product

  Professional, positive demeanor. Collegial orientation; relationship-builder who is solutions-oriented

  Organized with strong follow through and execution

  For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $173,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
