HYBRID SCHEDULE- On Site 1 day/ week in Glastonbury, CT
Growing company is adding a Senior Accountant to their team! In the Senior Accountant role, you will support the company's goals by preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, establishing budgets and forecasting, helping to review contracts, and handling accounts receivable, including billing and cash application . Candidates must be detail oriented and be able to work independently. This well-compensated, full-time position includes great benefits and growth possibilities.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Accounts receivable functions including customer billing, cash application and ensure pricing matches customer contracts
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Requirements
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
3-5+ years of general ledger accounting with exposure to accounts receivable
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Account and bank reconciliation experience required
Experience with month end closings
Foundational knowledge in journal entries
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR), and willingness to handle this as part of your daily responsibilities
General familiarity with financial statement preparation
Proven knowledge of variance analysis
BA/BS in Accounting
QuickBooks experience is a plus!
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Prior experience with contracts or project accounting is a plus, but not required
