SUMMARY
Media Coordinates work withinThe Media Teamto photograph and record the day-to-day life ofcampersat CampOrkilaon beautiful Orcas Island, WA.The Media Teamis responsible forcapturing and editing candid and posed photos and videos of staff and participants, creating media content, and managing social media accounts (including Instagram, Facebook,Smugmug,etc).Previousexperience with video and photo equipment isrequired.Media Coordinators are supervised by the Media Director and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Documents campers, staff, and camp programming using photos and videos.
Edits photos and videos using editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom
Produces weekly content
Ensures equal representation of participants across all programs
Updates CampOrkila’smedia sites
Assistsin ensuringcontent and social media benchmarks are being met.
Assistsin supervision of campers
Provides leadership and supervision to any developingteenleaders placed with theprogramM.aintainshigh standardsof housekeeping including bathrooms,cabinsand main lodge.
Assistsin keeping all program equipment in working condition and available.
Assistsinmaintainingall program areas in a safe and orderly condition.
Attends staff meetings and trainings
Maintains relevant American Camping Association standards.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This joboperatesat a seasonal residential camp, both inside and outdoors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required totalk orhear. The employeefrequentlyis required tostand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift store or janitorial products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, seasonal position. The usual camp workweek is six days on and one day off, including training, staff meetings, and regular duties. This summer camp position is exempt from minimum wage and overtime regulations per State of Washington wage and hour law.
TRAVEL
This position isrequiredto live onsite at camp. All travelrequiredfor work will be done by YMCA Authorized Drivers.

Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
18 years of age or older
Current certifications in CPR and First Aid
Demonstrate leadership skills. Must be able to work independently, exercise good judgment anddemonstrateorganizational skills.
Experience with photography, videography, and editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom
Ability to relate to parents/caregivers,campers, and staffin a professional manner.
Ability toparticipatein activities that involve rigorous physical activity in an outdoor setting, including, but not limited to hiking, boating, camping, swimming, etc.
If applicable,other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience whichprovidethe knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
One or more years of education, training, and/or experience whichprovidesthe knowledge, abilities, and skills necessaryto perform effectively in the position.Preferknowledge of andpreviousexperiencewithdiverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
Experience with anti-racism practices and coalition building.
