  ​​Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture. ​

  ​​The Fabric Release Mangement Team within Fabric platform team is hiring a Senior Program Manager. Microsoft’s Fabric team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like Power BI, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Explorer. We will bring the world’s data to the Microsoft Cloud, power a new class of data first applications, and empower everyone on the planet to make better decisions with data.

  Responsibilities

  We are looking for passionate people with experiences working with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services.  

  Responsibilities include:

  • Define program and release criteria, drive release quality metrics improvements.

  • Define and evolve existing frameworks for program planning, execution, and release activities.

  • Facilitate the definition and completion of program and release criteria for major milestones.

  • Design and develop tools and services to support data-driven decisions.

  • Use program management tools and communication methods to ensure common understanding of program plan of record to stakeholders.

  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect program and release scope, schedule, and quality.

  • Acts as a subject matter expert and provides strategic guidance in orchestrating and integrating efforts for the development and implementation process of feature(s)/feature areas (e.g., product, services) on large cross functional projects with internal teams and external partners.

  • Build and maintain program health dashboards to surface metrics that can be used across various stakeholder communities.

  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.

  • Communicate to and regularly interact with senior leadership, highlighting risks across functional teams and providing recommendations to support product level decisions.

  • Ensure cross functional alignment by generating clarity, tracking towards development milestones and overall release readiness.

  • Monitor and measure engineering impact and performance results by tracking key performance indicators. 

  • Improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software.

  • Detailed and organized. You endeavor to never let anything fall through the cracks. You are clear, concise, and specific. You track and ensure that release data is 100% accurate

  Qualifications

  ​ ​ Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related.

  • 8+ years of Product/Program Management, quality assurance or software development experience with proven success in delivering critical services

  • Proven record of managing cross functional teams programs with 5+ teams in the last 3 years which demonstrate exceptional Project Management and Organization Skills.

  • 3+ years’ experience in engineering systems (work & code management, build, validation, deployment, Change Management), service operations at scale, and ability to go deep in technical areas.

  Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  ​​Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in cloud and enterprise services or applications.

  • Passion for end-to-end product development, whether that’s working with customers, defining product strategy, designing mockups, coding, etc.

  • Release management and Quality experience

  • Proven process definition and implementation change across large teams
