Sartorius is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Applied Scientist to expand our Corporate Research team.
Location: Remote, U.S. with travel to Ann Arbor, MI and Marlborough, MA

Working with Sartorius you will have unique access to large-scale, annotated and high-quality biological/chemical datasets across many different data domains in bio-analytics and bio-processing, including live-cell imaging, multi-plex cell and protein analysis as examples.

What you will accomplish together with us:You will design and lead technical/applied research projects to achieve goals laid out in our Research and Technology RoadmapsYou will evaluate relevant state of the art knowledge for business potential and translate into project and existing product/technology areasUse your knowledge and abilities to build prototypes using state-of-the-artmachine learning tools for the life sciences in the applications of computer vision, sequence analysis and omics analysisOne of your tasks will be to implement data science-best practices for developing and deploying high-quality reliable machine learning-solutionsOn a regular basis, you will advise project leads and upper management on project statusOne of your tasks will include working with a global team on respective technology areasMaintain and build strong relationships with internal and external collaborators
What will convince us:You have completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Biotech, Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines/equivalent research experience, preferably with a focus on life science or biotechnology applicationsYou possess 2+ years of experience in industry using modern deep learning frameworks (such as PyTorch or Tensorflow) and with modern computer vision methodology (Object Detection/Tracking or 3D reconstruction)You have a minimum of 2+ years of experience working with real world data is required, experience working with microscopy images is a plusStrong programming knowledge in Python is required, including knowledge of common data science tools such as Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib, and version control using Git.Working knowledge of either machine learning management systems such as Azure ML, machine learning workflow-engines such as MLFlow/Airflow/Metaflow, or data storage, databases, and structure for large data volumes
