WHAT YOU'LL DO
Please note that this role is a Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2024!
The primary function of this role is to work as part of a busy Finance function in the position of Senior Financial Accountant, within the Financial Accounting Team. The role will report to the Financial Accounting Manager.
Key responsibilities:
Preparation of financial statements including full disclosure notes and working papers. Identify potential compliance gaps, assist in finding solutions and making recommendations
Preparing other financial analysis relating to P&L and balance sheet to aid senior management review of financial statements and disclosure notes
Preparation of relevant audit working papers for the US Group audit, and UK statutory audit. Liaising directly with auditors to effectively close audit topics relating to accounting and financial reporting, such as application of new standards or accounting policy
Coordinating month end close processes and activities, including reviewing work of junior team and reconciling complex accounts. Coordinate review of accuracy/legitimacy of recorded transactions and related reports
Processing of monthly accounting entries
Maintaining relevant balance sheet account reconciliations
Preparation of intercompany invoices to US and Canada for Reg105 and GST respectively
Preparation of monthly reporting pack including full commentaries, for closing submission to Global Accounting & Control team in Boston
Input into L-A-B month end closing analysis as part of rotating "topic squads"
HFM data loads for UK entities at month end close, as part of closing submission to Global Accounting & Control team
Preparation and timely filing of monthly, quarterly and annual Office for National Statistics (ONS) surveys
Monthly business partnering with Mobility, Marketing & Finance budget holders, including monthly cost analysis and commentaries, and overseeing the forecasting and plan cycles for these areas
Oversight of UK cash forecast, including liaison with Treasury team regarding liquidity requirements
Liaising with Treasury team to settle intercompany balances between UK LLP and UK Limited company on an annual basis
Employee liability insurance finance contact including renewal support
Provide finance/accounting support on occupancy related projects such as asset tagging, capex fit outs and acquisitions of new office space
Providing leverage and support to Financial Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting & Operations Senior Manager, and other Financial Accounting team members as required
Performing other projects and duties as assigned by the Financial Accounting Manager and the Financial Reporting & Operations Senior Manager as required
Other responsibilities:
Challenging the status quo; delivery of ideas and process improvements relating to areas of responsibility, driving forward change to further streamline processes
Participate in change plans and implementation
Ongoing compliance with BCG's Finance Minimum Standards and other internal policies, ensuring a robust control environment and risk management. Identify control gaps and make recommendations to solve
Review policy changes and ensure team processes and documentation are kept up to date
Keeping up to date with relevant training, and taking training to develop new skills and build on existing skills
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Proactively identify areas for personal growth and development and raise with Line Manager for additional support as required
Play a key role during US/UK group, tax and internal audits

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
3 years or more relevant experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic finance department
LLP accounting knowledge required
Specialist knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and its application. US GAAP knowledge is desirable
Experience of working with financial systems and reporting tools (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Business Objects) and willingness to learn more as required
Strong organisational skills, orientation to detail and initiative
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Professional services background is desirable
YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will work and collaborate with multiple stakeholders including finance colleagues in local, system and global levels and business support teams. These stakeholders will include:
Finance teams in L-A-B (London, Amsterdam and Brussels), among other countries
Global Accounting & Control team, based in headquarters in Boston
Managers and Head of Functions in the Business Services Teams
