Position Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join our purchasing team in our Guidance & Navigation Division in Pine Brook, NJ. The ideal candidate should be a Data Driven buyer with experience managing EMS contractor build schedules as well as managing supporting material requirements analysis and acquisition. Experienced in procurement/purchasing circuit cards and circuit card assemblies to discrete passive and active electronic components, electromechanical assemblies, machined parts, housings, DC/DC converters, GPS's, wire, hardware, etc. for the aerospace and defense industry.
Essential Functions
Manage Subcontractor relationships including tactical build schedules, material readiness, stocking levels, and quality requirements as well as strategic operational processesManage EMS RFQ and selection processes including supporting documentationManage supplier relationships for important discrete componentsUtilize ERP/MRP data to analyze supply/demand status quickly and efficiently, then convert this status into purchasing requirements plan to support higher level demand planAnalyze and respond to all master schedule and MRP generated material and shop order requirementsMonitor accuracy of purchasing bills of materialsAnalyze and report availability of purchased material to managementEnsure flow down of contractual requirements such as special processes, FAI, customer source inspection, etc.Maintain schedule and status of deliverables, actions and issuesProactively participate in continuous improvement activities affecting the, procurement, build, and test processRelease and obtain confirmation for purchase orders related to assigned commoditiesExperience with small business program administration (SBLO)Other responsibilities as assignedRequirements:
High level understanding of material and planning functions/processes in ERP systemsMust be knowledgeable with FAR, DFAR & ITARExcellent computer and analytical skills including advanced user of MS ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProgram or project management skills a plusSelf-starter with ability to get tasks accomplished on time with limited supervision Critical Competencies
Computer skills and data analysis (using MS Excel)Planning skills including MRPNegotiation and influencingManaging special projects Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, technical or administrative (or at least 8 years of experience).5 years managing EMS suppliers and buying passive and active electronic components, electromechanical assemblies, machined parts, housings, DC/DC converters, GPS's, wire &, hardware.Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
