　　General Summary

　　The Senior Business Analyst role is primarily responsible for analyzing, understanding and helping to communicate the impact / value of a product to customers as well as to internal stakeholders. They will use their technical and domain expertise to translate data into meaningful insights and work with other teams (e.g., Advanced Analytics and Finance) to help strengthen the business case for ongoing investments. Their work will be accomplished with little to no oversight, and they must exhibit a proficiency with the tools and technical skillsets necessary for their area of responsibility. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data-led storytelling and will bring the right balance between creative and analytical thinking to help position the value (ROI) our products can deliver for our customers. This position will work closely with the business and product teams across the Workforce Wellness Solutions (Expanded Solutions) portfolio, as well as partners within finance, analytics, and other solutions and/or enterprise functions to deliver actionable insights.

　　Conduct moderately complex data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources to determine the best source for business / product informationUnderstand and estimate the value / ROI our products generate for our customers and define the best artifacts (e.g., ROI calculator) to communicate that valueAcquire, transform and translate data into actionable dashboards, reports, algorithms, datasets and communication artifactsPerform moderately complex statistical analysis and present findings to guide, influence and advise leadership and/or customersCollaborate with data engineers to perform data validation and testing activities as appropriateContinuously develop and build upon existing in-depth knowledge of the employee benefits industry, company and competitor landscapeContinuously develop and build upon existing in-depth knowledge of data stored in company databases as well as emerge trends in business / product intelligence technologiesWorks directly with internal customers to refine requirements and validate output to ensure solutions will meet expectationsComfortable with ambiguity to adeptly support a growing and evolving product portfolio

　　Bachelors Degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience4+ years experience with demonstrated success in a value estimation, ROI analysis, BI analysis or comparable data analytics related fieldProficient in analytics programming languages (SQL/R/Python)Demonstrated expertise with modern BI toolsets (Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, or equivalent)Demonstrated understanding of data profiling, statistical analysis and data modeling conceptsProficient in extracting and leveraging data out of data warehouse, transactional databases, object stores & API based environmentsDemonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutionsAbility to embrace change, adapt to the unexpected, and focus energies, people, and solutions on practical and positive resultsDemonstrated problem solving skillsStrong communications skills with the ability to influence others using data and logicAbility to effectively mentor othersAptitude and drive to learn new technologies and analysis techniquesStrong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization

　　The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

　　$73,300.00-$143,300.00

　　Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
