Description:
Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for performing the daily Cancer Center revenue cycle activities and functions, including charging, medical records, and authorization functions.
What you will do:
Responsible for performing the daily revenue cycle activities of the Cancer Center.
Understands Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology charges sets. Is able to accurately assign, enter, export, and reconcile charges for both departments.
Performs daily review of charge capture for accuracy and appropriateness and reconciles daily schedules for patient statistic purposes. Enters facility fees daily as appropriate.
Assists in reviewing of Cancer Center write-off reports and provides direct involvement in appeals processes and denial prevention/management.
Performs pre-service check processes, including pre-authorization and medical necessity checks, for all services performed and ordered in Cancer Center.
Performs medical record functions in the Cancer Center, including organization of medical records (both electronic and paper), scanning into EMR, and processing of release of information requests.
Ensures compliance with federal, state and payor regulatory requirements, as well as compliance with Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity program and HIPAA.
Identifies areas of opportunity in revenue cycle performance as well as development and implementation of plans to achieve opportunities.
Hours/Schedule:
Full Time, Day Shift (40) hours/week. Flexible work location options may include working 100% remotely or working in a hybrid arrangement with both remote workdays and days on-site at the MercyOne North Iowa location.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalency certificate, required.
Associate degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of oncology business experience is preferred.
