This position primarily coordinates the collection of structured data to be used for all aspects of the vascular registry including data compilation, data entry, data analysis, and report generation. The coordinator assists in the billing process by gathering and submitting documentation for surgical and radiology claims and analyzing registry reports to insure that all procedures are reported and billed. In addition this position will be integral in the application of quality standards throughout the practice as it seeks to improve the methods by which the organization collects structured data. This includes the creation and maintenance of templated reports for in office procedures and appointments, the monitoring and reporting of physician score cards, and problem solving relative to the collection of missing data.

An ideal candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, both independently and on a team. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday during normal business hours of 7:00AM-3:30PM. This is an onsite position at 391 Myrtle Ave. Albany, NY 12208.
Responsibilities:
Collect and enter all clinical data in a structured manner into the vascular registry databases
Create and run queries for data analysis including monthly quality assurance reports and specific queries as requested by the physicians
Where no structured data collection is available, seek to create an ongoing mechanism by which we can efficiently and accurately collect applicable data points
Analyze structured data and create requested reports
Create and modify databases as needed for new projects and procedures
Participate in monthly Research Meetings as the primary practice contact for large scale data pulls and analysis related to ongoing research, presentations, and academic publications
Ensure large data set requests have gone through an appropriate vetting process to minimize the duplication of requests and redundant reporting
Collaborate with physicians on requested research projects to collect most pertinent data
Provide accurate data pulls for external agencies as required for insurance/credentialing purposes
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with experience in health sciences preferably medical education at RN or LPN level
Minimum of 3 (five) years of experience in database management
Minimum of 3 (three) years of clinical experience, preferably working with patients with vascular disease
Familiarity with medical billing preferred; some familiarity with quality measures preferred
Key Skills:
Able to communicate clearly and effectively on a wide range of issues with physicians, Vascular Group staff members, and staff members at area hospitals to achieve required goals, Able to work with others to accomplish tasks and goals
Able to organize workload, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
Able to determine project parameters, establish needed databases, analyze data, and generate meaningful reports
Assess billing reports and determine what measures should be taken regarding documentation and billing of procedures
Demonstrate proficiency with multiple software packages including database management, word processing, spreadsheets, and the patient information systems at local hospitals
