Description
As a Clinical Dietitian, you will provide outpatient evaluation and nutritional treatment of infants, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients within the organ transplant, nutrition support, and nephrology programs at Children's Health Center in Westwood. This position collaborates and communicates closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, and respiratory therapists. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop an individualized assessment including goals based on gender and age
Implement recommendations for nutrition care and therapy
Implement reassessments as needed per changing medical needs
Educate patient and family/caregivers
Assist in obtaining necessary insurance authorizations
Act as a liaison to home health agencies and patient's school as necessary
Participate in clinical, educational, and teleconference activities
Salary Range: $37.83-49.89 HourlyQualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
Certification as Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration
Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a specific area of dietetics such as renal, pediatrics, digestive disease, liver, critical care or cardiology
Ability to assess patient calorie, protein and micronutrient needs based on Standards of Nutrition Practice and the Guidelines for Nutrition Care
Ability to evaluate appropriateness of current nutrition regimen and make appropriate recommendations
Ability to apply principles of medical nutrition therapy, food service and sanitation
Ability to adapt procedures for patient education level, cultural practice, psycho-social and economic status.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of nutrition care for varying age groups
Demonstrated ability to maintain medical charts and documentation
Ability to travel within the UCLA Health System as needed
Preferred:
2+ years of RD experience with 1 year in Pediatrics
