  Collins Aerospace is looking to fill a Mechanical Systems Engineering position within the hydro-mechanical, actuation & pneumatic valve design group. You will participate in product development activities, execute tests, and produce parts, designs, or sketches, following all appropriate Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards.

  The hydro-mechanical, actuation & pneumatic valve design group is responsible for hydro-mechanical components, including jet fuel controls with functions of flow division, fuel metering, pressure regulating and high-pressure relief, as well as fuel-draulic actuators and pneumatic valves including butterfly, in-line and check valves. This position has a heavy focus on development, taking requirements to detailed component requirements and detailed design support, including all required analyses, and test support and data analysis for development hardware and requirements verification. This group supports design and development, qualification, assembly & test, aftermarket, and field service as well as cost and weight reduction efforts.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Participate in product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.

  Support tests for systems, sub-systems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.

  Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.

  Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects.

  Produce parts, designs, or sketches for components and systems.

  Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic for production.

  Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

  Evaluate and investigate various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency as needed.

  Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions as needed.

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract

  The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
