Manager / Director, Private Client Services (Family Office)
Alvarez and Marsal's Tax practice has an opportunity to be part of the very fast growing Private Client Services (PCS) group, providing diverse day-to-day accounting, financial and administrative support to our High Net Worth clients. Our ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background; very strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and professional demeanor; excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to handle and respond to multiple client and department demands; thrives in a fast paced and dynamic environment and is a team player but is able to work independently.
What will you be doing
As an Experienced Manager / Director on the PCS team, you will provide multiple clients with a variety of accounting and support services including but not limited to the following:Responsible for the review and oversight of accounting processes, i.e. timely posting of all financial transactions to G/L, maintain the general ledger, generate and post all journal entries, coordinate monthly close, and prepare financial reportsManage the accounting functions for specific families that includes; accounts payables, ensuring accurate, authorized invoices and payments are processed in a timely mannerCompile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and documenting business transactionsManage and reconcile bank accountsReconcile various expenses and intercompany accountsPrepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for clients with related work papersAssist in preparation of annual tax package and supporting documentsEstablish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control proceduresDevelop trusted relationships with and collaborate with clients to compile project information and resolve issues;Deliver a high-quality project on time and on budget; andDelegate, review work of, and effectively manage a team of staff

Qualifications:Private Client Services/Family Office/High Net Worth accounting experience strongly preferredBachelor's degree in Accounting requiredMaster's degree in Accounting a plusCPA required5 years related accounting experienceHigh level of integrity and respect for the confidential nature of the informationA "can do" attitude and willingness to go above and beyond is highly desiredStrong understanding and ability to interpret and prepare financial statements and financial reportsWell organized, strong attention to detail, effective time managementStrong knowledge and experience in QuickBooksStrong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPointProven record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, in a professional mannerStrong interpersonal skills and desire to work directly with clientsAbility to work independently and follow through on assignments with limited directionStrong time and project management skillsBilingual, a plus
