JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under thedirection of the Director of Clinics and Provider Relations, and thedirect supervision of the RN-Nurse Manager. The Licensed Practical Nurseprovides general nursing care, including treatments, administeringmedication to patients, prepares patients for and assists inexaminations. Provides patient education within their scope of practiceto meet the needs of OCHC\'s patient population. Records appropriateinformation in patient records, oversees and directs medical assistantsand manages patient flow in the department. Performs various supportspecialist duties to ensure optimal patient flow and excellent customerservice in accordance with OCHC policies, practices and procedures. Allduties performed must reflect their scope of practice. The LPN also hasa reporting relationship with the Chief Medical Officer for clinical andrelevant issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES perform allgeneral duties as Licensed Practical Nurse. Other duties may beassigned. Coordinate/ensure providers schedules are reviewed the daybefore to determine the appropriateness of the schedule and that thenecessary equipment is available the day of the patient\'s visit.Coordinate/ensure that charts are reviewed prior to patient arrival toassure necessary reports are available prior to patient\'s arrival;review and follow up on lab reports in accordance with departmentalprotocol. Obtain vital signs and chief complaint per clinic protocol,prepare patients for exam and/or treatment, collect data and initiateappropriate procedures per department protocol. Report abnormalities toprovider. Under the direct supervision of the RN, provide telephone andin-person triage, utilizing triage policies and protocols, within theirscope of practice and skill level. Schedule appointments,referrals/consultations, collecting specimens, performing rapid tests,and assisting those with special needs, etc. Comply with all policiesand procedures related to the clinical and corporation (nursing, humanresources, safety and security, etc.). Provide patient education withinscope of practice and skill level. Perform and/or assist with EKGs,nebulizer treatments, wound care, other treatments/procedures,vaccinations, medication administration, and other common ambulatorycare procedures under the direction of the RN based on written providerorders on the patient order sheet and clinical procedures.
