Job Title: Yard Hostler/Forklift Driver - $21.50/hour (2nd and 3rd Shift)

Job Description

As a Yard MHE Operator, you will be responsible for moving loaded and empty trailers in and out of the docks, ensuring adherence to safety procedures. You will also handle the movement of trailers within the property confines, perform manual duties such as trailer inspections, and maintain accurate documentation using basic computer or tablet systems.

Responsibilities

Move loaded and empty trailers in and out of the docks.

Move loaded and empty trailers for specific needs following safety procedures.

Drive empty and loaded trailers within the property confines (not on state and federal roadways).

Perform daily yard checks to verify trailer accuracy.

Perform manual duties such as trailer inspections and opening/closing trailer doors.

Inspect product or equipment to ensure it is free of damage or contamination.

Properly complete paperwork/documentation.

Use a basic computer and/or tablet for documentation purposes.

Operate a handheld radio.

Maintain daily housekeeping of the tractor being operated.

Report inconsistencies to the Traffic Coordinator.

Essential Skills

Experience with forklift operation is MUST. 6+ months of experience.

Heavy equipment operation skills.

Ability to operate stand-up reach and sit-down forklifts.

Experience with pallet jacks.

One year of experience operating a yard hostler or similar equipment.
