The Human Resources Senior Clerk will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the City of Lufkins Human Resources Department. The HR Senior Clerk will also strive to provide all injured team members with the highest level of customer service and respond to their questions and/ or concerns. This position will serve as a liaison between team member and assigned adjuster throughout the claim process and maintain a strong communication channel with each. The ideal candidate must be analytical, detail oriented and must have great communication skills.[MAJOR DUTIES Logs in all workers claims and maintains appropriate files and records Compiles and upholds proper confidentiality as required by the HR Department Complies with local, state, and federal rules and regulations Serves as liaison between City of Lufkin, team members, and workers compensation insurance carrier Verifies accuracy of time off due to job-related injury to verify workers compensation pay Follow up with assigned insurance adjuster and complete any wage statements and supplemental injury forms when needed Ensures all injuries are recorded and documented regardless of severity REPORTS TO Director of Human Resources.QUALIFICATIONS High School graduate or equivalent Professional HR certification preferred Knowledge of HR State and Federal laws, regulations and practices 5+ years related experience in Human Resources including experience within workers compensation and budget is preferred
