JOB REQUIREMENTS: The search for the Dickinson Area Economic DevelopmentAlliance (The Alliance) Executive Director is underway. As the currentDirector prepares for retirement, we seek an accomplished businessleader to join our team in Iron Mountain, Michigan. In this pivotalrole, you are a dynamic community leader who can bring vision to thetable and foster collaboration among public officials, privateenterprises, and community groups. Your expertise in economicdevelopment planning is crucial, and as a strategic leader, we expectyou to inspire and motivate both public and private sectors to addressthe challenges facing our region. Success in this position will hinge onyour ability to influence, build relationships, and consistentlyidentify new partnership opportunities that enhance the businesses ofthe Dickinson County area. The Executive Director will report directlyto the Alliance Board of Directors. While the Executive Director is thesole full-time staff member located in Dickinson County, our Alliancehas a successful partnership with the Lake Superior CommunityPartnership in Marquette, Michigan. This collaboration, spanning oversix years, involves contracting additional support and expertise fromthe LSCP. They provide valuable services such as administration,accounting, marketing, software tools, economic development resources,and staffing to assist the Alliance in implementing its economicdevelopment plans. WHAT WE OFFER. \$60,000 - \$85,000 annually, based onyour knowledge and experience. Medical, dental, and vision insurance;prescription drug coverage. Retirement plan (SIMPLE IRA). Anunderstanding of the Northern Michigan economic, cultural, and politicalenvironment. Bachelor\'s degree or higher in a field allowing you to besuccessful in this position, or equivalent experience in a leadershipposition. Certification and/or training as a Certified EconomicDeveloper (CEcD) a bonus. At least 3 years\' work experience inbusiness, economic and/or community development. Proven ability to opendoors, network, and forge relationships essential to leading theorganization\'s efforts to position the area as a top destination forinvestment and job creation. Understanding of basic marketing and brandstrategy. Financial acumen required (prepare/manage annual budget, riskmanagement, accountability). Ability to stay current onlocal/state/federal financing tools, programs, practices, services, andresources. Excellent listening, communication, presentation,problem-solving, and time management skills with a record of soundbusiness logic. Valid driver\'s license and ability to travel/maintain aschedule requiring occasional evening/weekend work is required.
