Position SummaryThis position performs preventive maintenance, performs diagnostics andmakes repairs on diesel heavy construction equipment and on-highway trucks inthe safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
Responsibilities
Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies andprocedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the taskPerforms diagnostic tasks in order to properly source parts and accuratelyrepair heavy equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to dieseltrucks, trailers, ready mix trucks, rollers, pavers, loaders,backhoes, skid steers, etc.Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventative maintenance work onequipment and vehiclesDismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools, asneededOperates and inspects machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defectsOverhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiencyExamines parts for damage or excessive wear, repairing and replacing damagedor worn partsTroubleshoots and rewires electrical systemsTests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensureproper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specificationsResearches, orders, and maintains the inventory of parts for service andrepairsCompletes all paperwork as necessary, including but not limited to workorders, parts requests, time cards, logs, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, etc.May make service calls and roadside repairs as neededPerform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience
Valid CDL Class B minimum, Class A preferred (or ability obtain CDL within60 days)Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment/on-highway truck maintenance experienceor related field that showcases skills with mechanical, hydraulic, andelectrical systemsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade school or equivalenttraining desired
Physical Requirements & Conditions
Ability to lift 75 poundsMust be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use ofyour arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing,lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
Compensation & Benefits
We are excited to share the base hourly range for this position is $26.50 -$35.90. The offered compensation will be determined based on factors such asgeographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies,skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta weplace a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensationfor those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The postedrange for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does notsolely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum ofthe range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growthopportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may notalign with internal equity.
