  General Supervisor, Maintenance

  Work Mode: Onsite

  Location: Onsite at Huntsville, AL

  Opportunity

  Supervises directly and through subordinate supervisory employees, non-exempt salaried office employees, maintenance and other non-product manufacturing supporting services that are required to properly maintain the plant buildings, it’s physical facilities, roads, and grounds.

  Responsible for having a well-organized and efficient maintenance program; for providing for installation, maintenance, overhauling and testing equipment within the plant; for planning, scheduling, and maintaining surveillance over contractors work being performed within the Huntsville location.

  Also responsible for the formulation and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures relative to routine and preventive maintenance and provides production departments with required general service assistance. Provides routine and preventive maintenance at lowest cost, and emergency repairs with minimum downtime.

  Specific Responsibilities

  Responsible for the Maintenance function.Includes ground upkeep, janitorial services, waste removal, pump house, fire protection equipment. Maintenance of vehicles, plumbing and utility equipment. Complete full spectrum maintenance for over 1,225 pieces of equipment.Installation of new equipment.

  Responsible for establishing and maintaining an up-to-date preventive maintenance program.

  Ensures that all equipment and facilities maintain the standards set for O.S.H.A. and E.P.A. compliance.

  Develops and maintains annual capital equipment expenditures budget.This development is based on economic and feasibility studies to support Executive Committee Approval requests for addition.

  Ensures that all data required is gathered on time and accurate for local, TECQ and EPA reporting including annual emissions inventory, annual waste summary, federal operating permits, storm water pollution prevention plan, water discharge permits, RICE air emissions inventory, and hazardous material report.

  Plans and revises maintenance schedules or procedures to provide the production departments with proper maintenance at the lowest cost, with minimum downtime, consistent with good maintenance practices.

  Assists with detail planning for annual plant shutdowns and major equipment overhauls to insure efficient use of manpower and equipment.

  Ensures that equipment records are kept up to date.

  Periodically reviews storeroom items and maintenance materials to ensure the proper inventory levels are maintained.

  Conducts daily random inspections of maintenance projects.

  Ensures that operating records necessary to control and analyze activities of the units are maintained.

  Assists in formulation of department operating objectives that support plant and division objectives.

  Participates in development of budgets and forecasts of material and labor requirements and other operating plans and forecasts.

  Assists in development and implementation of training programs.

  Skills/Requirements

  Bachelor’s degree in related field. Ten or more years of work experience or advanced technical degree with 5 or more years work experience in a manufacturing operation. Recognized achievement and technical expertise within a professional field or possess in-depth, applied experience in multiple engineering specialties.

  Good communication and organizational skills.

  Ability to control costs and plan budgets.

  Ability to motivate, energize, influence, and develop subordinates.

  The salary range for this position is $91,950 - $116,800. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
