Job Description

　　Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair forklifts and other equipment

　　 Ensure proper preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner

　　 Read and comprehend technical manuals

　　 Operate lift trucks and equipment as required

　　 Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company policies

　　 Maintain a clean and safe working environment

　　 Repairs and maintains various types of forklift trucks including electric, gas-powered, and propane-powered.

　　 Maintains repair log for forklift truck fleet.

　　 Performs detailed inspections which include checking for fluid leaks, loose hardware, lubricating chains, fluid levels in electric lifts.

　　 Performs wheel inspections.

　　 Understands proper lockout/tag out procedures.

　　 Knowledge of the following functions in order to perform the job: stick welding, MIG, brazing, and soldering.

　　Skills and Requirements

　　Forklift Certification

　　 Completion of forklift truck mechanics training course required

　　 5 + years of experience with forklift repairs

　　 Possess a clean and valid drivers license

　　 Must have mechanic tools necessary to complete required responsibilities

　　 Ability to work independently and without constant supervision

　　 Good communication skills including good command of the English language, both written and verbal

　　 Ability to proactively plan assigned tasks to reduce equipment downtime

　　 High School Diploma or GED

　　 Ability to use hand and power tools to repair forklift trucks.

　　 Ability to read repair manuals for various types of forklift trucks.

　　 Analytical and problem-solving skills.

　　 Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

　　 Welding / fabricating experience

　　 Stable work history null
