The Big Picture:
Howden Africa Compressors & Turbines Division based in Sasolburg is looking for an experienced Financial Manager to participate in effective strategic, financial and information technology planning by providing financial advice and guidance to the Managing Director and Management team. Responsible for planning, directing and controlling all financial activities for the company by following policies and procedures and in accordance with IFRS standards. Provide control functions in order to ensure finances are managed according to legislation, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles by managing accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records.
What needs to be done?
Ensure that the company adheres to all financial policies and procedures and to IFRS standards
Ensure financial and internal control systems are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements, generally accepted accounting principles and SOX compliance
Conducting financial analysis and prepare detailed reports and statements.
Monitor the purchasing functions.
Timely, accurate and complete reporting of financial results, analysis and presentation to ensure effective management of the business.
Adhere to Howden/customer/statutory procedures, instructions, quality and safety standards.
What do you need to bring?
Qualified accountant (CA or CIMA) with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE.
5 years experience in a senior financial management role.
IFRS, GAAP and US GAAP up to date knowledge
Good commercial and business awareness
Sound business acumen
Excellent leadership, people and team building skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Well-developed accounting skills
Sound IT skills
An analytical and enquiring mind
Good management skills
