Respond to critical incidents and/or disaster scenes at the direction of the VESS staff, Critical Incident Response Services members and authorized members of the DPS leadership.2. Provide emotional support and spiritual care to DPS employees and their dependent family members upon request.3. Visit sick or injured officers, departmental personnel, and family members in homes and hospitals.4. Assist in making death notifications.5. Provide assistance to crime victims upon request.6. Serve as liaison with clergy and other community resources.7. Offer invocations at special Department of Public Safety events.8. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications: GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:Education As required by faith tradition.Experience Three (3) or more years in pastoral or parish/congregational ministry; congregational endorsement or recommendation within the individuals respective faith tradition. Previous Law Enforcement experience as a peace officer is also required.Licensure and/or Certification Valid driver license from state of residence.Organizational and Prioritization Skills Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a high-stress, fast-paced, multi-demand environment, and the ability to make sound work-related judgments and decisions. Ability to understand and effectively apply complex oral and written instructions and procedures.Presentation/Communication Skills Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be comfortable speaking or presenting to various and diverse individuals. Ability to understand and effectively apply complex oral and written instructions and procedures. Ability to make quick and accurate judgment calls regarding the need to provide information and critical decisions.Interpersonal Skills Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
