　　What you’ll be doing

　　• Contribute to the development and support of scalable data products for our business stakeholders.

　　• Agile development through story planning, estimation and retrospectives.

　　• Aid with the continual improvement of our data product solutions, i.e. process improvements / operational monitoring / automation opportunities / security.

　　• Collaborate with designers, analysts, and other data and software engineers.

　　• Continual improvements using Development and Operational Support best practices.

　　• Provide guidance to offshore Development and Operational Support teams.

　　• Input into solution design and discovery sessions on product backlog items.

　　• Improve our solutions through automated testing and deployments.

　　• Continual learning through internal and external training

　　The skill you "ll need

　　Hands on Development and Operational Support experience in a cloud platform, such as AWS, GCP or Azure, in a data engineering context.

　　Hands on Development and Operational Support experience in an on premise platform, such as Cloudera, in a data engineering context.

　　Be proactive and lead continuous improvement and innovation activities, in relation to data product support, in a data engineering context.

　　Experience in a development and/or support role within a data and/or software development team, testing, deployment, process automation.

　　Experience in a story driven agile environment.

　　Proactive about continuous improvement and innovation.

　　Knowledge of Software engineering best practices.

　　Input into software and data product designs, assisting other engineers in creating quality solutions.

　　Hands on software development in a story driven agile environment.

　　Desirable Skills & Experience:

　　Development and/or Support of data/software products from inception through to production.

　　Experience in software development, testing and deployment in a story driven agile environment.

　　SQL, Python, Java, or Scala development experience.

　　Use of Hadoop, GCP or AWS to build Big Data solutions using some of the following technologies: Scala, Java, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis, Kinesis Analytics, BigQuery, Dataflow, BigTable, SQL, Python.

　　Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code Toolsets.

　　Input into data product designs with other engineers to come up with the best solutions.

　　Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment Strategies.

　　Prior experience using Confluence, JIRA, or other Atlassian tools.

　　Software version control using Git or SVN.

　　Presentation of technical issues and successes to other members of the team.

　　Have a proven ability to learn new technologies and put these into practice.
