JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview American Foods Group, LLC has an opportunityfor a Director of Food Safety/Quality Assurance to join our dynamic FSQAteam in Green Bay, WI. As our Director of Food Safety/Quality Assuranceyou will be responsible for providing strategic direction and managementof FSQA, regulatory compliances and animal welfare for our beefslaughter facilities and pork slaughter facility. You will work closelywith local and regional USDA/FSIS, AMS authorities, customerrepresentatives, third party auditors, plant management and executivecorporate management to ensure program and regulatory compliance. Inthis position you will have the opportunity to impact public health andanimal welfare across the beef industry. Primary Responsibilities: *Provide leadership to the Quality Assurance Managers, in updating,maintaining, and implementation of pertinent regulatory documents andrecords, product specifications, quality assurance records, personnelrecords, and files. * Ensure animal welfare, food safety policies andprocedures, and AMS school lunch and export programs are up to date. *Manage the HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and specified risk material programs forproduct manufactured at our slaughter facilities. * Establish andmonitor the acceptance criteria for our product and controls thedisposition of nonconforming product. * Assure all products produced inthe plants meet or exceed customer requirements for food safety andquality. * Collaborate to ensure animal ID traceability and providetechnical guidance on post-mortem inspections. * Statistically analyzedata and utilize epidemiological skills to make informed decision anddrive best practices. * Effectively communicate with management andcustomers in planning, scheduling, coordinating, and enforcing thequality assurance program. * Cooperate with government agencies andthird- and second-party auditors. * Actively participate in plantmanagement, operational, industry and government agency meetings. *NOTE: This description is not intended to be all-inclusive. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications (Required): * Bachelor of Science in Biology,Microbiology, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine or related field. *Must be able to travel 40-50% and relocate to Green Bay, WI. * Advancedknowledge of the regulatory requirements for meat and poultry products.* Excellent understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs. * Provenexperience with effectively managing inspections and auditingactivities. * Strong knowledge of; labeling laws, specified riskmaterials, and animal welfare regulations for beef and pork products. *Broad knowledge of microbiology, aseptic sampling technique, samplingplans, and laboratory practices. * General understanding of statisticalsoftware, AS400 inventory system, and MS Office Applications. PreferredQualifications: * Master\'s Degree or higher in Science in Biology,Microbiology, Food Science, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, or relatedfield. * HACCP and GFSI certification. * 5 years\' experience in thebeef or pork industry at supervisory level with a minimum of 3 years\'experience in beef slaughter.
