Job Overview:
Contract role for an estimation of 3 to 5 months.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to help our team at the in a local County Office. As a Financial Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial activities of the county, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights for decision-making.
Monitor budgetary performance and recommend adjustments as needed.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present regular financial reports to management and relevant stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Conduct financial audits and collaborate with auditors as necessary.
Cash Flow Management:
Manage and optimize cash flow to meet operational needs.
Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Implement effective cash management strategies.
Financial Controls:
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
Conduct periodic reviews to identify and mitigate financial risks.
Ensure compliance with county financial policies and procedures.
Grant Management:
Oversee the financial aspects of grants and funding programs.
Ensure proper utilization of grant funds and compliance with grant requirements.
Prepare grant financial reports and documentation.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead the finance team, providing guidance and support.
Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
Foster a culture of transparency and accountability.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience as a Financial Manager or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in financial software and MS Office Suite.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
