  ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

  Catholic Charities is one of the largest, oldest, and most comprehensive nonprofit human services organizations in Northern California, annually reaching more than 60,000 vulnerable individuals of all faiths in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin Counties. With a staff of approximately 450, reaching peaks of nearly 600 with seasonal hires, a budget of $54.3 million, and a current governing board of 27, this venerable, fully-accredited, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit addresses some of the most pressing community needs – homelessness, generational poverty, immigration, inequality, hunger, aging in isolation, and communicable disease -- to name a few – with compassion and services of highest quality.

  CONTROLLER

  Job Summary:

  The role of Controller for Catholic Charities San Francisco is an integral part of the Finance team and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of the agency, manages the financial statements and reporting, and the annual audit process. The Controller plays a key role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the agency while adhering to the highest ethical standards. This is a full-time onsite position reporting to the Chief Financial Officer

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, 15 years of accounting experience.

  10 years of supervisory experience, CPA a plus.

  Knowledge of non-profit industry accounting, a plus.

  Strong problem-solving, presentation, and leadership skills.

  Positive attitude, strong team player, and effective manager in a diverse setting.

  Manage organizational cash flow needs, optimizing working capital and investment accounts. Serves as main point of contact for banking and investment relationships.

  Prepare consolidated financial statements. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and nonprofit reporting requirements.

  Coordinate, lead and manage the annual financial audit and tax filings.

  Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  Manage team of three direct reports and a total of eight staff.

  Maintain effective communication with all levels of employees across organizational lines, as well as executives and board members.

  Job Type: Full-time (On site)

  Pay: From $150,000 - $185,000 per year
