  Position Summary:As the Competitions & Collaborations Coordinator for the Office of Research, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of research competitions, supporting academic excellence and contributing to the success of both faculty and students.   The Office of Research is a fast-paced, growing Office at the University of Alaska Anchorage. To assist with the new demands in research, sponsored projects, and external funding, the Office of Research is seeking a dynamic Competitions and Collaborations Coordinator. This position is a new position in the Office of Research and the successful person will assist in shaping the future of internal competitions in the University of Alaska Anchorage.

  To thrive in this role, the successful candidate should be able to develop and conduct training, workshops, and seminars. The candidate will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all funding eligible for competition at the University of Alaska Anchorage. The ideal candidate will be engaging and able to communicate effectively to faculty, staff, and students.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years' experience (i.e. training or human resource development), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  Position Details:

  This position is located at the Bragaw Office Complex, less than 2 miles north of UAA's main campus, in Anchorage, AK, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package (https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php) . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule (https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/files/fy24_staff_salary_grid.pdf) , Grade 79, based on education and experience.
