Job Description

　　A manufacturing client of Insight Global is looking to bring on an Overnight Shift CNC Operator in a permanent capacity for their machine shop in Gilberts, IL. This company specializes in the manufacturing of firearm products and accessories. They have been scaling steadily, and there is plenty of opportunity for growth and advancement. The ideal candidate will have CNC Machining experience with both Mills and Lathes, along with experience with inspection tools.

　　Some of the Key Responsibilities include:

　　Quality Control: Conduct regular checks on the produced parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.

　　Adjustments and Troubleshooting: Make adjustments to tool offsets, speeds, feeds, and other parameters as necessary to correct deviations from specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during production.

　　Material Handling: Load raw materials into the machine and remove finished parts, ensuring that materials are properly aligned and secured.

　　Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tools or parts.

　　Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including tool changes, machine settings, and any quality control checks performed.

　　Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

　　Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the production team, including supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to meet production goals and resolve any issues that may arise.

　　This client runs a 3-2-2-3 schedule with the night shift working from 7:00pm-7:30am. The 3-2-2-3 schedule rotates every two weeks and allows candidates to work 3 days, be off 2 days, work 2 days, and then be off 3 days. This 12 hour shift schedule allows candidates to work full-time in only 3-4 days per week. Every shift comes with (1) 40 minute lunch, and (1) 20 minute break.

　　Skills and Requirements

　　Experience with Mills and Lathes

　　Experience with Inspection Tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)

　　High School Diploma or Equivalent Knowledge of G-code programming

　　Experience doing setups and proofing null
