  Summary

  Pratt & Whitney is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines, industrial gas turbines and space propulsion systems. The company's 36,000 employees support more than 11,000 customers in 195 countries around the world.

  The Quality & Process Engineering (Q&PE) organization (which includes ESA/MCL/NDT/MET disciplines) is responsible for working closely with our internal and external suppliers and providing process approvals, surveillance, and production support.

  P&W Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) organization is looking for an Engineer (P3) to join our Inspection and Technical Service group to support supplier quality requirements within the balance and airflow processes.

  Responsibilities include:

  Become a balance system certifier (primary role) and airflow system certifier (secondary) for Pratt & Whitney.

  Qualify and audit P&W module centers and external suppliers for compliance to P&W specifications. Provide findings report and follow ups, as needed.

  Perform work instruction reviews and approvals per customer requests.

  Analyze balance measurement system data for repeatability and reproducibility.

  Provide back up support in the Airflow Development Center.

  Support CORE and 5S initiatives within the organization.

  Maintain compliance with all EH&S and ethics requirements.

  Cross training opportunities in CMM, structured light, and calibration within Q&PE.

  Travel Requirements: 10%

  Basic Qualifications:

  Advanced degree 3+ years of experience in Aerospace, Metrology, Engineering or Quality industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

  U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Engineering degree or Metrology concentration preferred.

  Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret blueprints.

  Comfortable working with automated machinery and robotics.

  Background in statistics and data analytics.

  Understand Design of Experiments, SPC, and Gage R&R.

  Knowledge of Aerospace industry Quality standards and procedures.

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  General metrology experience in CMM, structured light and/or layout inspection.

  This role is:

  Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

  Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

  This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.

  The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
