SUMMARY
At First Federal Bank of Kansas City, we believe in prosperity and ahome for all. The primary role of the
Community Mortgage Loan Advisor will be to expand our reach inunderserved populations and racially-diverse
communities with a boots on the ground approach to helping and advisingindividuals determined to achieve
their dream of homeownership. As Community Mortgage Loan Advisor (CMLA),you will work closely with
individuals, families, and nonprofit partners to educate, empower &encourage potential new homebuyers. The
CMLA will assist consumers who have been identified as potential loancustomers throughout the loan process,
gathering supporting loan documentation to process and approve the loanaccording to the banks loan policy.
They will assist in all phases of the mortgage loan process whileproviding excellent customer service to both
internal and external customers. The CMLA will perform other mortgagelending functions as needed to
establish and support bank lead generation efforts and referral partnerrelationships. The CMLA will act as a link
between the bank and a range of local partners who provide one on onefinancial coaching to individuals and
other housing organizations focused on creating affordable housingopportunities in the MSA of Kansas City.
The CMLA will be assigned to our Minnesota Avenue & Stateline Locationand may be eligible for
Remote Work opportunities. Generally, the CMLA will be expected to workM-F during regular
business hours along with occasional work events and financial educationclasses taking place during
evenings and weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other dutiesmay be assigned as needed.
? Responsible for promotion of the banks Mission, Vision, and Values.
? Identify and assist primarily first-time homebuyers & others withbuilding their knowledge & confidence to
become a homebuyer through financial education, improving credit scores,increasing their savings for a
down payment, and mortgage payment reserves.
? Identify current homeowners to review the benefits of refinancingtheir current mortgage to save money or
reduce remaining years on their mortgage.
? Initiate and maintain a dialogue with potential mortgage customers byutilizing the Banks CRM system.
? Maintain strong knowledge of all mortgage products offered by thebank.
? Provide financial products and services that improve the financialwellbeing of the customer by identifying
other bank products that the customer qualifies for including HELOC,auto, unsecured personal loan and
deposit products then create referrals for identified products.
? Provide quality customer service by answering customer inquiries in atimely fashion regarding loans and
delivering prompt communication at all stages of the loan process to allparties involved.
? Communicate with banking center employees and other referral partnersregarding all areas of the loan
application process.
? Field mortgage related phone calls from borrowers from all branchesand departments
? Routinely travel to and from community events.
? Complies with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including,but not limited to, the bank Secrecy
Act, USA Patriot Act and related anti-money launderi ng statutes andfederal consumer protection legislation
and regulations.
HOW YOULL SPEND YOUR TIME
? Organize, promote & lead at least one monthly financial educationclass with a local community partner to
conduct presentations on various financial topics such as budgeting,credit scores and homebuyer
education.
? Provide and track in-person financial education workshops & othercommunity engagements serving LMI
individuals and racially diverse communities that support the CRA(Community Reinvestment Act)
compliance team with data for the CRA Exam.
? Manage and grow partnerships with nonprofits, neighborhood & housingorganizations who support
homeownership goals.
? Identify a key housing nonprofit and serve on their Board or aCommittee to deepen the Banks partnership.
? Meet one on one with clients to help them input their mortgageapplication, scan required tax returns &
other documents needed for the application process.
