In this role, you will play a pivotal part in a broad range of accounting activities, with a specific focus on Payroll. Responsibilities:
Process accurate and timely payroll transactions, including wage calculations, overtime, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Collaborate with HR, maintain payroll records confidentiality, and contribute to audits and financial reporting.
Manage the preparation and upkeep of comprehensive accounting records, encompassing general accounting, costing, and budget data.
Generate financial reports, and conduct monthly closings.
Analyze financial information to create entries for various accounts, including general ledger accounts, and meticulously document business transactions.
Supervise, coordinate, and execute data entry for diverse accounting functions such as Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchase Orders, General Ledger, and Payroll.
Establish, uphold, and coordinate the implementation of robust accounting and control procedures.
Monitor and scrutinize accounting and related system reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Clarify billing invoices and communicate accounting policies to staff, vendors, and clients.
Resolve accounting discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or three plus years of accounting and payroll experience.
Understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient in utilizing payroll software and staying current with technology trends.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Knowledge of employee benefits administration, including deductions and contributions.
Familiarity with financial and accounting software applications.
Analytical ability to assess financial data and prepare reports, and statements.
Capacity to make informed accounting and procedural decisions.
Strong organizational skills with a task-oriented approach.
