You will be part of the Amazon grocery team that supports one of Amazons busiest services: online grocery orders. You will be working in a grocery warehouse, but it is not like our other bigger buildings, it is more like the size of a grocery store. Customers can choose everything from cereal to ice cream to fresh flowers, so you will be preparing orders, working in different environments including refrigerated and freezer spaces for part of your shift. You will be operating and working around moving machines order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts.Activity. In addition to sitting and standing while operating equipment, some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs.Temperature. Even with climate controls, temperatures can vary between 60 and 90 degrees in some parts of the warehouse; on hot days, temperatures can be over 90 degrees in the truck yard or inside trailers.Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, closed toe shoes are required and protective safety footwear are required in select business units.
