Summary You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST(ACQUISITION TECHNICAL SPECIALIST) in the MINOR CALIBER GUNS BRANCH of the GUNS DIVISION in the SYSTEMS INTEGRATION DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is equivalent to the GS-13/14 level. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $157,934). Responsibilities You will serve as a lead acquisition technical specialist providing expert advice and support for the acquisition of Naval Minor Caliber Gun Weapon Systems (GWS). You will perform at a high level representing the organization both internally and externally, and interface with the ISEA Project Manager/Lead, sponsor, and Director of Acquisition and Strategic Planning. You will be involved with and direct the work of developing and implementing acquisition plans in progressive stages. You will conduct analysis and implement best practices in resolving complex technical and acquisition issues. You will work with the Director of Acquisition and Strategic Planning, contracting personnel, and sponsor(s) to execute technical rigor programs needed for timely and quality production of Naval Minor Caliber GWSs. You will lead and support work related to acquisition plans, procurement data packages for large contracts of services and material, technical assessment reports, and risk management for award of contracts to procure weapon systems. You will participate in Source Selection requirements for gun weapon system(s). You will lead delegated efforts and/or personnel and effectively manage milestones while optimizing the use of available resources to attain project goals. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing contracting or acquisition functions (e.g. preparing technical assessment reports and procurement data packages) to develop and implement acquisition plans and strategies for contracts to support the procurement of weapon systems.
