A new two-year traineeship, (Administrative AssistantTrainee 1, NS=Grade 8 starting salary $34,831 & AdministrativeAssistant Trainee 2, NS=Grade 10 starting salary $38, 875)leading to Administrative Assistant 1, Grade 11, has beenapproved effective October 31, 2019. Trainees will be requiredto take four mandatory courses the first year of the traineeshipand four elective courses in the second year of the traineeship in four competency areas through the CSEA Partnership, orequivalent offerings through another entity as determined by theagency. Trainees having completed the mandatory courseworkprior to appointment may be eligible for appointment to theTrainee 2 level with appropriate approvals. All trainees arerequired to successfully complete all courses before advancingto the Administrative Assistant 1, G-11.Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience providing administrative support for a large, multi-faceted public health program. The candidate must also have excellent communication, interpersonal and demonstrated organization skills.
Duties Description The Administrative Assistant 1 position provides clerical support to the Director and Deputy Director of the MARO Communicable Disease Control Program located in New Rochelle. Duties include, but are not limited to; answering incoming calls for the office and maintaining a daily phone log; performing clerical functions such as correspondence to arrange conference calls and meetings; processing incoming and outgoing mail; maintaining office supplies, inventories and PPE supplies; calling and coordinating repairs for various office machines and building maintenance; creating and maintaining electronic administrative documents and assisting with all clerical duties in support of leadership and staff within the MARO Communicable Disease Control program.
