JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Title Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant - Neurology; Inpatient Manager for APPs PositionDescription: The Medical College of Wisconsin\'s Department of Neurologyis seeking a Manager for the Advanced Practice Provider (APP\'s) to workas part of a multidisciplinary health care team, providing a broad rangeof diagnostic and therapeutic services for the patients as a member ofthe Department of Neurology in the Neurocritical Care Unit (NICU) andthe Neurohospitalist Unit (NH) located in Milwaukee, WI at FroedtertHospital. The Ideal Candidate will be a have a strong foundation inevidence-based practice and ensure an environment of safe quality care,wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academicpractice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas ofresponsibility will include, but not be limited to providing directpatient care to an adult patient population in an inpatient setting. Inaddition to direct patient care, the Manager of the APP\'s will providesupervision and coordination of Advanced Practice Providers within theNH and NICU services and implement policies & procedures to maximizeefficiency for the program and the Advanced Practice Provider model.Coordinate and supervise recruitment, training, and evaluation of APPswithin the division. Participate in Division of Hospital Neurologyactivities as a liaison for Advanced Practice Providers as necessary andrepresent the Division to the Office of Advanced Practice within MCW. Inthis role you will: Core Administrative/Leadership Responsibilities:Acts as the primary Inpatient APP liaison and serves as a consultantbetween the APPs and Attending Physicians and Nursing Directors toensure patient care needs are met. Assists Department Administrator withrecruitment activities, such as job description development, resumescreening and interviewing. Facilitates onboarding and coordinatesprecepting of new APP hires functioning in the inpatient setting andserves as the primary resource for the discussion of roles,expectations, and APP care models with new hires/recruits. Leads the APPperformance evaluation process, (EMERGE). Assists with performanceimprovement plans, as needed. Mentors and provides necessary support forprofessional development by acting as liaison to professional growthopportunities and activities, and/or coordinating profession specificvenues for learning. Facilitates Inpatient APP scheduling process, toinclude but not limited to vacation/CME request approvals, and inpatientcoverage. Enters, updates, and approved timecards on a monthly basis forAPPs.
