Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated,abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.The Residential Program is recruiting a Full-Time Youth DevelopmentSpecialist to work with adolescents who are court ordered in to ourlive-in treatment program. Each day is different! Duties include workingwith youth who need caring adults to help them learn new skills tomanage their feelings, make positive decisions, learn responsibility anddevelop healthy relationships. You will work with youth individually andin small group settings teaching social skills, healthy coping skillsand recreation & leisure activities. Youth Development Specialists alsotake the youth into the community for small group or 1:1 outings. Inaddition, you will ensure safety by providing excellent supervision andcrisis management. Make a difference in the lives of teens while gainingvaluable human services experience. Become a part of a dynamic,multi-disciplinary team that is committed to developing positiveconnections with kids and families and helping them be successful inlife. The schedule for this position is four, 10 hour shifts (1pm-11pm)on a two-week rotation, including every other weekend. Meals areprovided while on shift. Individuals who are successful in this rolehave a positive and patient approach to helping adolescents throughtough times. Candidates will be asked to complete a background check anddrug test. Qualified applicants should possess a minimum of a HighSchool Diploma/GED. A Bachelor\'s Degree in the Human service area &/orrelevant experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
