Position Overview:
The Youth Advocate is a part of the wrap around support team at the SILP locations. The Youth Advocate’s role is to provide daily living support, as well as assist with carrying out treatment goals set forth by the case planner/social worker, to ensure day to day health and well-being. This will include escorting youth to appointments when needed, providing guidance on budgeting, household maintenance, healthy eating, shopping and other daily living activities. With the Youth Advocate each young person develops a personalized action plan with short- and long-term personal goals to guide them throughout their time in the program. The Youth Advocate will play a critical role in the successful, safe, and healthy discharge of the program youth. Youth Advocate will maintain contact and provide support to youth upon discharge.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma and a minimum of 5 years working with youth in foster care, runaway homeless youth and or mother/child programs. Must have an understanding of adolescent and early childhood development. Must have excellent time management skills and be reliable. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to manage crisis situations. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Salary: $27.24 hourly (Flat Rate)
