Summary This position is part of the Y-12 Field Office, Department of Energy. As a Information Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight, coordination, and support for sophisticated and technologically advanced IT and telecommunication systems for YFO and contractors across a large geographic area. You will serve as the point of contact for YFO related to enterprise architecture issues and processes with a focus towards addressing and satisfying OMB Circular A-130. Responsibilities As a IT Specialist, you will: Provides technical advice and expertise in continuing the evolution and maintenance of the NNSA Enterprise Architecture (ENTARCH). Interprets broad Government-wide enterprise architecture guidance and standards. Establishes NNSA standards, policies, and guidelines to ensure NNSA systems compatibility with DOE-wide architectural and technical standards. Represents NNSA on Federal/industry groups. Prepares recommendations and advises senior management and program/project managers on optimum courses of action to resolve major IT problems Requirements Conditions of Employment Subject to Random Drug Testing Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience in providing technical oversight, coordination, and support in information technology field; AND/OR Experience providing technical oversight, expertise and support for a federal agency, contractors, and customers across a large geographic area; AND Experience in establishing and overseeing project execution of federal prime contracts and/or subcontract work performed under prime contracts Examples of Specialized Experience: Experience in IT systems design, system controls, and project management techniques to perceive vulnerabilities. Experience in the application of principles, procedures, concepts, and methodology used in management of information technology. Experience making recommendations to senior leadership concerning overall plans and proposals for complex IT project, related to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and timely resource provisioning.
