About WRCH Project Manager

  The Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic Project Managerat the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH). This position will play an essential role within the WRCH Hospital Executive Committee, leading diverse projects on behalf of the hospital administration. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for Operations, you will provide critical analysis and support for projects, administrative operations, and general activities. Your primary focus will be on project scheduling, progress tracking, resource optimization, and resolution of potential delays, ensuring an organized and time-sensitive approach that minimizes disruptions for the 320 patients and over 1,000 employees at WRCH. Your responsibilities encompass the full project lifecycle, from contracting and procurement to on-site supervision of contractors and effective communication with hospital administration. Beyond project management, you will champion a safe workplace and environment for staff, clients, and visitors. Your expertise in overseeing cross-departmental projects, such as physical modifications and safety/security requirements, will contribute to the seamless functioning of WRCH. Collaborating with various departments, you will ensure compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation standards and actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives, utilizing data analysis to monitor and enhance facility goals. Join us at WRCH, where your project management skills are integral to creating a secure and efficient healthcare environment. /_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/ * Oversee, coordinate all aspects, and maintain responsibility for all cross-department projects such as procurements/contracts, physical plant modifications, access, or safety/security requirements such as property closures due to inclement weather or major repair/installation. * Plan and ensure appropriate resources and clear communication between departments involved in the project and throughout the hospital. * Develop contracts and supporting documentation for projects and vendors including soliciting bids as necessary for projects that do not fall within the purview of Management & Budget. This may include proposal development, proposal review, contract negotiations, preparation of contract documents, and ongoing monitoring of the project while in process. * Create spreadsheets, documents and databases to improve divisional workflow: monitor and report project spending and budgets to hospital administration. * Collaborate with multiple departments regarding the Joint Commission on Accreditation (JC) compliance and survey activities. * Ensure Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) by developing, preparing, and analyzing data reports used to monitor achievements of the facility goals. /_Preferred Qualifications:_/ * At least 3 years of project management experience. * Intermediate to advanced level experience using software and tools to track project progress, project costs, and resources. * Knowledge of the fundamental workings of State Government. * Fundamental knowledge of the Joint Commission and their Accreditation Standards, as well as Division of Labor Standards. * Ability to effectively implement change management by setting goals and striving for excellence. * Ability to understand and leverage authority and influence relationships within an organization. * Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of supervision. * Excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills. * Ability to identify a problem or opportunity and take action to address current or future problems and opportunities. * Ability to think through problems, organize information, and identify key factors and underlying causes to generate solutions. * Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency. _About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WHRC):_ Located on over 100 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience. IV.
