Description:
Position Purpose:
Responsible for the provision of nursing care/consultation for individuals with ostomies or wounds in contracted agencies, inpatient units and outpatient clinic.
What you will Do:
Provides direct wound, ostomy and incontinence assessment and management, discharge planning.
Participates in identification of patients at risk for skin breakdown, client care conferences, research and publications.
Performs essential functions and special skills of core RN.
Participates in wound and ostomy program development for Mercy and contracted agencies.
Participates in educational programs and conferences (local, regional and national) to maintain professional development.
Participates in professional organizations, i.e. WOCN, UOA, SUNA or State Nursing Associations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Baccalaureate degree in nursing required, RN required.
Completion of certification as a certified WOC nurse is preferred or completion of certification within 2 years of hire.
Current Iowa registered nursing license is required.
Two years of professional nursing experience required with demonstrated competency preferably in a clinic setting.
