  Job ID353410 LocationDuluth Job FamilyAcademic Full/Part TimePart-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9404 Employee ClassInstr Fac/UEA About the Job The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) seeks to add to its pool of temporary instructors and/or assistant professors to teach in our undergraduate programs (Chinese, French, German, or Spanish) on a part-time basis for the 2023-2024 academic year. Appointments may include day classes, night classes, hybrid classes, and/or online classes. Being a member of the pool does not ensure a contract will be offered. Course offerings and therefore teaching appointments vary with demand and available funding. Qualifications Required qualifications include a minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited university in a relevant field at time of application; one year of relevant teaching experience at the college level (TA experience acceptable); evidence of strong teaching credentials; and outstanding oral and written communication skills in the world language and English. Preferred qualifications are demonstrated ability to teach various levels of world language courses; knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and best practices in teaching and learning; and experience working effectively with diverse groups in educational settings. About the Department The Department of World Languages and Cultures offers majors and/or minors in Chinese Area Studies, Cultural Entrepreneurship, French Studies, German Studies, and Spanish Studies. We offer classes in language, cultural studies, film, literature, sustainability, specific purposes, among other areas.
