Water/Wastewater Department openings
The City of Radford is seeking to fill multiple positions in the Water/Wastewater lines department. Pay range varies with experience and qualifications. The successful candidates will perform a variety of semiskilled /skilled tasks in construction of and maintenance to the public underground water and sewer lines. Work is performed under regular supervision. These positions require exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force constantly and in all climate conditions.
Maintenance/Construction Worker, Motor Equipment Operator and Crew Leader are all HANDS ON positions that require the use of excavation tools, pneumatic, hydraulic and gas powered construction equipment in a TEAM work environment. All positions are subject to afterhours emergency work. Experience in utilities construction and maintenance work is preferred but not required.
Possession ofORthe ability to acquire a City sponsored class B Commercials Driver License valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia within the first year of employment. The City of Radford will fund the CDL training through an approved course with an employment agreement.
Successful completion of pre-employment testing and background check is a must.
