The Department of Public Health (DPH) and Tewksbury Hospital are seeking qualified candidates to join its Facilities Maintenance team. The Water Storage System Foreman II performs all duties necessary and works with other hospital employees and contractors to ensure the operation, safety and regulatory compliance of all water production and distribution systems and programs serving the hospital. This position will work 4 10 hour days, which includes either Saturday or Sunday: Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday. Will be discussed during the interview process. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1.Performs all duties necessary for the operation and compliance of all water production and distribution systems and programs. 2. Determines the need for equipment/supplies and notifies supervisor 3. Stores, inventories, distributes and documents the use of stock and special-order parts and materials. 4. Operates, maintains, secures and supervises the operation of all departmental / hospital equipment. 5. Works with employees, contractors, consultants, vendors and others designated by the administration of the hospital and/or are necessary to successfully perform the duties described within this document. 6. Ensures hospital compliance with all related codes, regulations and standards. 7. Performs testing and sampling activities required by all applicable codes and regulations. Supervises and performs all activities related to identifying, labeling, exercising, repairing, replacing, installing and documenting valves, hydrants and other parts, components and material related to water production and distribution systems. 9. Develops and maintains a knowledge of, complies with, enforces, and trains assigned employees on, appropriate hospital policies, procedures, practices and directives. 10. Attends all assigned meetings, training and other gatherings/events. 11. Performs all other duties related to the success completion of requests, orders, job duties and directives approved by the hospitals administration or their designee. 12. Helps to assure compliance with Joint Commission Water Management Standards including but not limited to testing the chlorine levels in the hospital – campus wide water system, supplying utility management with all test results, and documenting any corrective actions taken. Required Qualifications: · Knowledge of the standard methods and procedures followed in the operation and maintenance of a water storage system as part of a large-scale water storage and distribution system. · Ability to read blueprints, plans, specifications, etc. · Ability to follow and issue written and verbal instructions and · Ability to work well independently and in a team environment. · Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. · Ability to climb stairs and ladders. · Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. · Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Driver’s license. _Preferred Qualifications:_ Minimum T1 license needed with ability to obtain T2 license within nine months.
