  DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe regional Water Pollution Biologist intern follows biological and chemical sampling methods developed by the Bureau of Clean Water's Water Quality Division. The intern will be involved in collecting chemical and biological samples in streams and lakes and learning to identify aquatic organisms.  Subsample macroinvertebrate samples and reading and interpreting maps.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: Interns will have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor, so they are in the office on the same days. No full time telework will be approved. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you must report to the office in Norristown.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a full-time bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in an acceptable major.Freshman year completed.Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  Preferred Qualifications (not required):Students in the following majors:BiologyEnvironmental ScienceWildlife and Fisheries Science
